I plan to use my next upgrade phone (am using note 7 & 8 now) most probably s25 ultra for at least 7 years !
0-2 years = it's your mandatory primary job phone manufacturer !!
2-4 years = this is nothing, part of your standard service
4-6 years = great job on updates, you are one of the top
7+ or more years = this is the new bar the new standard we must head to !
this is for android, nobody cares about apple nor do I on fashion bricks !

So, your RM8 Pro will get barely one or maybe two (in the future?) major Android updates. And maybe +1 year of security update. Your phone is not even 2 years old.
Your RM7 which is few months older (Q1 2022), only receives now security & stability updates... You confirmed my words.

If you want an Rog but half the price. Redmagic is kinda good tho. I still have my Redmagic 3s (only for gaming) and it's still rocking with honkai star rail, mlbb, sky. The only problem with the phone is a battery life (3-5 gaming hours) and overheating (need to put cover phone or else your hand will cooked lol)

But you (the mobile phone manufacturer) have to provide continuous updates, which will make us feel secure about the existence of after-sales service, even if we don't use it.

Software support is just an afterthought. Sounds minimal but, my previous RM8Pro has received a lot of updates. So far received last year the Android 14 OS at RedMagic OS 9.0, and its now running RedMagic OS 9.5.
Awaiting to receive Android 15/RedMagic OS 10.0 update, it will still received security patches/stabiility updates for next year up til 2026. But hey, even my older RM7 still being updated with security and stability updates til today. Its from Q1 2022.

• Gaming on Balanced mode + Max/High settings on AAA games: Lasts me 7-9hrs depends on room temp too, AC turned on at 25-26 degrees-celsius.
• Gaming on Rise mode + Max settings on AAA games: Lasts 4.9-5.5hrs, room temp on Ac at 25degrees celsius + mobile fan
• Gaming on Diablo mode + Max settings on AAA games: Lasts 4-4.8hrs room temp on AC at 25 degrees celsius + mobile fan

This phone is perfect. Full screen with no annoying notch or punch hole camera and powerful specs. I like that it looks and feels retro like an old school cassette tape.

Will it ... moreYou'll be surprised if they used the usual apps like running YouTube, benchmark test, asphalt 8, and such. They won't do a proper battery test because its a waste of time for them! All you need to know is running high graphical settings on android only last 5 to 6 hours. And that's connected thru a WIFI.
If you're using data while gaming on the go and on HGS? 4 hours at most.

Look at GSMArena's Oneplus 12 benchmarks then look at Phonebuff's speed tests. The Oneplus 12 was essentially on par with the S24 Ultra/iPhone 15 Pro Max on everything except for the launching of that first person shooter game. Yet the benchmarks make it seem that the OP 12 is as slow as the SD 8 Gen 2.
Also, this is a gaming phone and this destroys every mainstream gaming benchmark out there. So this phone is doing its job.
Don't trust benchmarks blindly. But you won't listen, you just want to reaffirm your beliefs most likely. Confirmation bias ahh guy
