I'd say their monopoly has only just begun.Pixel 9 Pro is selling well because finally they have been able to put great display, great hardware and great modem inside such compact body. I hope Tensor G5 brings more power than G4. Rest is okay. I don't mind.

As battery life and size makes sense to them. Infact Google did something terribly wrong this year. Pixel 9 Pro has far better battery life than 9 Pro XL for some odd reason. Difference is evident even more after A15 update.

1. Pixel 9 Pro(On Wifi 6E router, it gets insane battery life, before needing charger)
2. iQOO 13(I don't know what they have done with display this time, battery life is incredible).
3. Vivo X200 Pro(They have used top display with LTPO technology along with RR dropping even below 1Hz).

How you are saying it is similar to snapdragon 8s Gen 3? Tensor G4 matches snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 performance. Tensor G5 should match snapdragon 8 Gen 2 at any cost and battery life should be insane as it will be based on TSMC 2nd generation 3nm.

But I agree, there should be ... moreThe 3a did come in a regular and an XL variant, but hardly anyone bought either model. The next year, the 4a came in a smaller 4G version while a larger 5G version (that I purchased and used for three years) was released months later. But Google's strategy that year seemingly cannibalized all of their phone sales, since the Pixel 5 was in many ways a downgrade from both the 4 from the previous year, and also the simultaneously released 4a 5G. The only real reason to get the 5 was if you wanted MMWave 5G, and were not on Verizon, which describes three people in the whole world.

9A is the only 9 series that come out with Android 15 out of the box. The other 9 series will give you only 6 OS updates in total so they end on A21 while 9a on A22
Pixel Xa series use to be more compact in size then others in the series while now it's bigger then 9 and 9 Pro even tough they are also 6.3 inch screen but are 152mm tall while 9a is 154mm tall.
But then again 9 series is a total fail and it's best to go with Pixel 8 series as the price have dropped and you wont miss out on updates too. While performance change is microscopic

Too big! 5.8" on the 4a was perfect. I would even prefer 5.5".
Why would anyone get a flagship though? Mid rangers are knocking on their door. The technology is pushing things forward, no matter how much they try to hold it back.
For example, 128GB should not be around in mid-rangers and flagships in 2024. But they are still using it to push people into 256GB. UFS 4.0 starts at 256GB. They will have to switch to it eventually, whether they want it or not.
120Hz screen tech already got pushed into mid and even budget range.
UWB and telephoto lens is what's left.
