YoloBS, 12 Dec 2024Why Samsung not creating sub brand in phones ? Because the only thing they have is name recognition... selling under a sub brand would cut in to samsung sales and they don't need more of that. they also have the s, a, and m series among other things, which kind of act as sub brands as it is. S is premium, A is value-line, M is ....international market? I think they sell them in India

It's not a sub-brand, since vivo is already registered by a telecom operator in several markets, they're rebranding the current vivo smartphones and Jovi to be sold in those specific markets only.

vivo already has sub-brands like oppo and oneplus. each of these sub-brands already have their sub-brands and now, they are making things even more complicated with less quality

it's not like the market is already saturated with chinese brands, main or sub or sub-sub.

Non-Chinese companies also had sub-brands in the past. Samsung with Anycall, LG with Cyon, Nokia with Alcatel and Vertu.

Anonymous, 11 Dec 2024Whole sub-brand thing is very suspicious. Why creating new brand to sell revranded phones in... moreTo be fair I dont have problems with sub brands . It's the bloat and rebrands that are a bit not my type.

I love collecting phones ( not easy and used fine ) so I can say like lots of confusing phones. If you remove brand names and apply same wallpaper and cheat a bit with icons
I won't be able to tell the difference between many phones of China. I keep confusing my own phones .

And Redmi , Xiaomi even sometimes copies their own flagships making it funnily look similar. I don't mind imitation or something. It's their business. I love phones anyways but By god - they confuse the normies a lot. Even as a bit amateur nerd , I can't keep with them

New subrands are welcome , but not rebrands

Poco and Redmi same phones are okay
But poco copying poco and making another same phone will confuse .
                          It's like Samsung A10 , Samsung A10e , Samsung A10s
But you know like.. it can confuse in

                          Samsung C36 , Samsung C74 , Samsung C11c
Etc if you mix how these companies do vs the South Korean giant.

Anonymous, 12 Dec 2024How about Zero Minus , Unreal You , Bluemi , Voco , Or Perfectly " Something " ... moreOr maybe Dimensity 8 or 9 is also okay since 1+ is first flagship like or similar chip ( no corners cut unlike their new phone bezel curves )

Dimensity 7 is good but my mistake. If its enthusiast go with 8 dimensity series or 9.
Or snapdragon 8 series ( but that would be hard or pro )

Perfectly " Something " and hire someone like Karn Payne and make Carbon Dioxide OS . Sell Something with Dimensity 7 series and make a bang for buck enthusiast

Jokes aside BBK is already big and they're already wanting to expand .

Transsion, Xiaomi and Huawei are like Two or Three rn
                                While BBK has lots

Oppo alone has Realme and Never settle (1+)
Vivo's mathematical Iq00 and probably next is One plus like.

I'd say I'm looking forward for something that can challenge Nothing but you have hire Karn Payne ( something like Carl Pei )

DarlingYext, 11 Dec 2024BBK doesn't even exist anymore. There is only Oppo with Realme and OnePlus as sub-brands,... moreBBK also had a now-defunct sub brand called "Neffos", and BBK also manufactured feature phones between 2008 and 2011 under the "BBK" brand.

The de-registration doesn't change the fact that the same key people and identity is still BBK. Much akin to Huawei and Honor, despite ownership differences. So in that sense, it isn't wrong to refer them all to "BBK" instead of separate brand names or sub-brands.

DarlingYext, 11 Dec 2024Please don't, vivo.Let's not forget the fact that Vivo's default ringtone is "Jovi Lifestyle", unlike Nokia Tune, Galaxy Bells (doesn't carry the Samsung name, but still), so "Jovi" does make perfect sense for countries that have different trademarks for the Vivo name (Brazillian carrier, sub-brand of Tinno for US etc), and the ringtone name familiarises it further.
