Hi Andrew,
Thanks for your update, i’m looking forward to metric sizes as about anyone in Europe is in desperate need in order to render your great software usable accros the globe.
Also, thanks for the multipicture-canvastip, works like a charm :-)
Greetings from Belgium,
Thierr

We were initially going to launch with metric sizes, but needed to pull them due to sizing bugs. They will come early 2016.

We will be adding out a variety of generic products and sizes as well as more labs and products as we build out.

As for putting multiple images on one canvas. You can do that. Just double click on one image, to bring it into canvas view and drag images onto it, just like Drop Zones in Album Builder

We look forward to seeing Gallery Designer mature with a lot of suggestions such as yours!

Also there’s a huge bug in the metric standard messure’s which needs a decent sollution soon, because due to this the Fundy Gallery Designer is useless for us European Centimeter-dudes. Also no pack prices/reductions are possible in Designer. Pricelists and/or product import via xml, csv and other popular data formats is non-existant.
The good news is that Designer does a decent job in autodesigning canvas groups if that’s what you as a photographer are after. After one week of trying and showing my clients they find it cool to preview it, especially the canvas grouping (read: several canvasses grouped together, all with one image per canvas), until you show them the total price of this group of canvasses, then they argument: “can’t you group those images like that on one canvas (since it’s far cheaper and results in more or less the same effect)?”.
Also the generic productlist is fixed down to canvases and metal prints. No option to put your own sizes, no option to add other products (like acrylic frames (which ‘look’ the same, but not from a pricelist view), prints on wood, etc). No option to directly print out an order form.
Nevertheless it’s nice to see Designer being added to the Fundy family of products and Designer is certainly a good effeort to make us sell more efficiently :-) It also has a very nice export option, which will give you ready-to-print files for your own printer or printshop, which is a very welcome time-saver.
I’m looking forward to version 2.0 which surely will follow soon and hopefully solve lot’s of these issues. I invite everyone to post there findings and experience for you Designer-owners.
Just my five cents on Designer.
